VenaSeal Vein Glue: The Most Recent Advancement in Varicose Vein Treatment

venaseal vein glue varicose vein treatment

VenaSeal Vein Glue: The treatment of varicose vein and chronic venous insufficiency took a step forward at the end of 2015 with the FDA approval of this new, minimally-invasive varicose vein treatment technique.

VenaSeal vein glue uses an innovative “superglue” treatment to treat painful or unsightly varicose veins of the legs.  Unlike other treatments, anesthesia is not required, which reduces the number of needle sticks down to just one per affected vein. Despite not using anesthesia, most patients report little to no discomfort during the procedure. There is also no risk of burns or heat-related nerve damage, as is the case with laser or radiofrequency ablation treatments.

VenaSeal vein glue demands almost no recovery time from the patient; patients leave the office with only a small bandage on the site of the treatment.  Post-treatment you are able to return to normal day-to-day activities and exercise immediately. Patients can even drive themselves home after the procedure. For the especially active patients, VenaSeal allows you to return to vigorous exercise almost immediately.

Post-procedure requirements are minimal as well. Unlike many other vein therapies, no pain medication or compression stockings are required, and the only post-procedure requirement is a check-up after the procedure to make sure the veins are healing properly.

VenaSeal has been shown to be extremely safe and effective in the treatment of varicose vein disease and venous reflux, the underlying cause of varicose veins.  It can be used to prevent the development of future leg vein disease.  VenaSeal has been approved by the FDA after medical studies have proven its safety and efficacy.

Unfortunately, because VenaSeal is so new, it is not currently covered by insurance providers.
